Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, the Christian holy season. Lent is a 40 day season, excluding Sundays, during which the Church repents, fasts, and reflects. This 40 day period coincides with Christ’s time of temptation in the wilderness, where He fasted and prayed while Satan tempted Him. As Christians, we set aside a time each year for similar fasting and praying.
On Wednesday, February 25th, we will conduct a special service in honor of this occasion. Ashes will be marked on the forehead of all who would like them, as a symbol of repentance. We invite you to join us as we begin this Holy Season.
