Maundy Thursday is an important day in the Christian calendar, marking the beginning of the Easter Triduum. It is a day of reflection and remembrance, as we recall the Last Supper that Jesus shared with his disciples before his crucifixion. On this day, we remember the profound act of love and humility that Jesus demonstrated when he washed the feet of his disciples. This act of service reminds us of the importance of humility and selflessness in our own lives.

As we reflect on the meaning of Maundy Thursday, we are also reminded of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. He knew that he would soon be betrayed and handed over to be crucified, yet he still chose to share this meal with his disciples and to offer them his body and blood as a symbol of his love and sacrifice.

MLK Christian Church will be hosting a virtual service on Maundy Thursday, April 6th. Please join us via Zoom for a simple, solemn service as we remember our Lord Jesus Christ. This service is focused on the final days of Jesus’ earthly ministry, including the Upper Room, Betrayal, and arrest; culminating on the Cross. If you choose to participate in the Communion, be sure to have the elements ready before the service begins. We recommend a small cup of juice and a piece of bread for each participant.

Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
